Just wanted to start this newsletter out by saying thanks for all the effort you all have put into this 2008 racing season. I know how much time it takes to train and get to the races on top of your normal weeks 9 to 5. You are all awesome!

Well this weekend marks the mid way point for both the WVMBA point series and WVVUS (Wayne Ultra is this weekend). The point races in many classes are super tight in may classes. Big shout out to the riders in the Single Speed class this year who week after week are really turning into the points race to watch.

For those of you who missed last weekend's event, the one-day Blackwater Bikes 2008 State Championship Mountain Bike Race was held in Davis, WV. The weather was perfect the day of the race with sunny skies and warm temps., but the down pour of rain the night before made the trail super muddy and turned an already challenging course into an epic event.

Here is a list of the 2008 WV State Champions, congrats everyone!

How about some Ultra Series news you ask? Well look for the points race to be posted after the Wayne Ultra on WVMBA.com. Word is that Drew has put in about 100 hours of trail work to make this race course one you will not soon forget!

Sammy Klimas NEWS: By now, most of you already know that Benji Klimas's 11-month old child, Sammy, has cancer. The out pour of support has been breath taking and I want to personally thank all of you. It makes me proud to know and be friends with each and everyone of you. In an effort to help the Klimas Family the North Bend Challenge with take 100% of race entry fees and donate them to the Klimas family. What does this mean for racers? Well, Expert classes will not be paid cash back for this race in an effort to give the Klimas's as much money as possible. Also, the prize table will only include items that are donated to the race. So, if you have a business or know someone who does please help support the Klimas's and WVMBA racers by helping to get or give donations to the prize table.

Also at the same North Bend race the auction for some SUPER items will conclude the awards ceremony. Items such as: YELLOW AUTOGRAPHED LANCE ARMSTRONG JERSEY, AUTOGRAPHED NED OVEREND JERSEY, AUTOGRAPHED SUE HAYWOOD JERSEY, AUTOGRAPHED GUNNAR & BETSY SHOGREN JERSEY are just to name a few. These items can be bid on right now in the WVMBA forums area.

Once again thanks for all your efforts and support of WVMBA. Fell free to e-mail me any questions or concerns.
